Senior Pastor Dan Reimer Our Senior Pastor, Dan Reimer, and his wife, Sue, grew up in central Wisconsin, which means our Nebraska winters seem almost tropical to them. Though Dan attended a Lutheran church with his family while he was growing up, Dan and Sue didn't commit their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior until Dan was 30 years old and Sue was significantly younger, which she still is. Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin, and was minding his own business as a Systems Analyst when God dragged him kicking and screaming into the ministry. After receiving his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, Dan was the Youth Pastor for four years at a church in Quincy, Illinois, and then came to Bethel Church in 1998, where he served as Youth Pastor for two years before being called to his current position in 2000. Sue is in charge of the video ministry at Bethel and also does the audio editing for our sermons on My Bridge Radio. Dan is committed to preaching and explaining God's Word in a manner that is easily understood and applied to our lives. They are both committed to prayer; to doing whatever they can to help advance Christ's kingdom, and to serving Him however He desires. In their free time, they enjoy motorcycling and amateur radio. |
Associate Pastor Matthew Stephens Matt grew up on a large cattle farm in central Missouri, where he learned to love God’s creation, work hard, and make family a top priority. Matt found Christ as his Savior and Lord in the summer between his fifth and sixth grade years at a nearby church camp and perceived God calling him to vocational ministry during his early teen years. Throughout his teenage and young adult years, Matt was involved in a wide variety of ministries including worship, youth ministry, missions, outreach, preaching-and-teaching, and church planting. He majored in Communication and minored in Youth Ministry at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, where he met his wife, Melissa. They developed a close friendship while learning guitar together, eventually fell in love, and were married before graduating college. During their seven years of marriage they have renovated two historic homes, planted a church, and survived three years of seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. God has blessed them with two terrific children: Madelyn, a kindergartener, and Jonathan, who is on his way to becoming a romping, roaring toddler. An artist himself, Matt loves art of all kinds: music—especially modern rock, folk, and indie music—visual art, and design. He is passionate about using his creative gifts to help people worship God in spirit and truth. He also enjoys basketball, board games, reading, and a variety of outdoor activities. Most of all, he and Melissa love simply hanging out with friends. Matt’s personal mission statement is to know God and make Him known in increasing measure. His life verses are Isaiah 26:8 and Matthew 28:19-20. Matt and Melissa are thrilled about how God is moving at Bethel Church and about their roles in doing His work through Bethel in North Platte and beyond. |
Youth Pastor Andy Pull Andy Pull grew up in rural North Dakota and attended the University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree. While earning a BA in Spanish, he "suffered" through two semesters abroad in Spain and Costa Rica, and learned how to love and appreciate almost anything that doesn't involve mayonnaise. During those undergraduate years he also interned with a campus ministry one year and served three summers doing counseling and leadership duties at Cooperstown Bible Camp in Cooperstown, ND. At Cooperstown Bible Camp, he was taught how to read, study, and memorize Scripture...and also met his wife Lisa. He felt God's calling into ministry as early as his freshman year of college, but wasn't sure of exact timing or direction. Andy worked as an internet marketer for a toy company in Ohio for a couple of years until God told him it was time to move on. While he earned his Master of Dvinity degree from TEDS in Deerfield, IL, he fell in love with Youth Ministry through volunteering and interning at Lakeland EFC in Gurnee, IL. He graduated in May, 2010, and began at Bethel in September. Andy loves teaching, discipleship, and hanging out with youth. Both he and Lisa greatly value Scripture memory and discipleship, and are excited to see God work in and through the youth at Bethel. Lisa volunteers with the youth and is looking forward to getting involved with women's ministry at Bethel. Andy loves to play disc golf, enjoys computers, and follows the KU Jayhawks. Lisa is an avid reader, loves music, and has adopted the Jayhawks. They enjoy playing cards and casual evenings with friends. |
