Associate Pastor of
Youth Ministries
Darwin Keeney
I was raised on the Great western plains of South Dakota, Murdo to be exact. How I happened exactly is still up for discussion, some think that I could have evolved taking this from my first name and all. Second, it could have been a pack of rangy coyotes since SD is the coyote state. Personally the one that I have been sticking with is that I was born and raised by a wonderful Christian family. I accepted Jesus into my heart at the age of seven and was impacted by various Pastors, Youth Leaders, and Camps during those important teen years. I attended Grace University of Omaha, NE and living up to the colleges reputation found an awesome wife by the name of Teresa. We moved to Waterloo, IA where we began to assist in the youth ministry. To us were born Landon, Elyse, and Mitchell. Little did I know that after 8 years, I would graduate from Upper Iowa University and for the next 4 years become the Youth Pastor. We moved to Wayne, NE in 2001 to start up a youth ministry and in August of 2005 moved here to North Platte where I am currently the Youth Pastor of Bethel Church.
I enjoy spending time with my family, hunting, and fishing, reading and hanging out with the youth and drinking lattes (Darwin's Delight) or Mountain Dew (the official drinks of all youth pastors). It depends on the time of year it is as to where you are likely to catch up with me. It could be in my office, on a body of water with my kayak, a goose or duck blind, crawling around in cardboard, various points of this great country driving the bus or at any of the various eating or coffee shops hanging with teenagers.
